  • Suitable for organic farms
  • Large stiff straw
  • High resistance to brown rust and ergot
  • Medium size kernels
  • Stable yield even without fertilization
  • Vegetation period – 209 days (from January 1 until grain waxy maturity) (In Lithuania ripens in the third decade of July)
  • Produces rich grain yield
  • Grain yield – 7.06 t/ha
  • Yield potential – 8.47 t/ha
  • And stable yields are obtained in an unfertilized background
  • Height of the plants – 147 cm
  • Coarse straw
  • Resistance to lodging – high, 7.8 points
  • Very good winter hardiness – even 8.8 points (out of 9)
  • High resistance to brown rust and scald, which makes this variety very suitable for growing on organic farms
  • Grain – medium coarse
  • 1000 grain weight – 35.6 g
  • Hectoliter weight – 75.4 kg/hl
  • Protein content – 10.7 %
  • Starch content – 63.8 %
  • Falling number – 145 s

*Tests on the variety economic value (VCU) at Šilutė, Plungė and Vilnius AVT stations, 2008-2010

  • In farms with intensive agrotechnics, the yield can reach 10 t/ha

When growing rye of this variety, it is not necessary to use chemical plant protection agents, which is why it is suitable for organic farms.

  • Grain yield – 8.0 t/ha
  • 1000 grain weight – 33.8 g
  • Hectoliter weight – 76.3 kg/hl
  • Protein content – 10.5%
  • Starch content – 61.4%
  • Falling number – 333 s

*2020/2021 according to research in Latvia (Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics, Priekuli Research Centre).

Rye is very suitable for greening, it is a nitrogen fixer, it survives well over the winter and collects a lot of soil nitrogen, being itself the best green fertilizer. It is especially suitable in a mixture with winter vetches. It is sown from mid-September.

• Rye captures nitrogen very well and can "transfer" up to 90 % of nitrogen to the next crop

• It is possible to sow the latest of all plants intended for green manure

• Will germinate at 4 °C

• Deep roots help break up heavy soils and improve soil structure

• Suppresses weeds

• Suitable for most soils, tolerates even heavy clay soils

• Rye sown in the fall can be cut and composted in early spring, and the roots can be ploughed

• Can be sown in spring, will not produce grain, but will effectively suppress weeds

• Rye can be used anywhere in the crop rotation
